Editorial Services

As an editor, it's my job to polish the diamond you've given me. A great author-editor relationship is built on respect and recognition of the collaborative process. I help you strengthen your own voice, rather than impose my own on your work.

Whether you're writing a journal article in new media studies or a historical fiction novel, my approach to your work is the same: I carefully read your manuscript, identify your unique voice, and make suggestions that I believe will strengthen your argument, your characters, or your point of view.

See the types of services I offer below.

In addition to my Masters, I attended the Denver Publishing Institute where I honed my editorial practice and have nearly a decade of professional experience working with cultural institutions, corporations, and independent authors to strengthen their authentic voices.

Clients

Sharifa Moore, Executive Director of Denver Digerati, PhD Candidate

"Ashley is a fantastic editor. Her thoughtful questions helped me clarify the core of my argument and make my theories legible without flattening them. She strengthened my writing while keeping my voice intact, which matters a lot to me. I’m grateful for her professionalism, and I highly recommend working with her."

Nonfiction Article Evaluation

  • An article evaluation gives you big-picture feedback on your project. Length is dependent on publication type - longer works submit 2-3 chapters only.

Fiction Developmental Editing

  • Developmental editing dives into the areas of opportunity outlined in a manuscript evaluation. It is a true collaboration between author and editor and seeks to optimize the structure and narrative of your fiction story from beginning to end.
